Green Door's origins started in Nelson in 2001 with a private sales service designed to help vendors sell without paying high commission charges. The business continued to develop its range of services until it rebranded as Green Door in 2004 when the current owners and franchisors, Gary and Dee Le Petit, established the flagship franchise, a business they continue to operate today. Bolstered by their success and, especially, the market’s enthusiastic response to their company’s range of high-value services, in July 2008 Gary and Dee bought the Green Door brand outright. That same year, in their drive to offer a full suite of complementary services, Green Door’s directors formed ‘Key Mortgage Advice’, a company offering a professional service for people looking for independent advice and a competitive deal on their next mortgage. Following an extensive period of market research, a little over a year later, Green Door launched its unique ‘best of both worlds’ business model and created its separate licensed agent company, Good Deal Real Estate Ltd (Licensed: REAA 2008), thereby offering clients their choice of selling real estate using either a cost-effective, private sales marketing package or by engaging the services of their growing team of licensed real estate agents.

In addition to growing the franchise network, Green Door’s owners are committed to harnessing the significant potential of web-based and social media services in order to assist clients with all their property selling needs.
